Gone are the days when letters were sent via long distance runners and on horse-backs. Although many people still rely on the conventional postal services and fast track courier services, the day to day operations of almost all businesses and even individuals has been made increasingly fluid with the introduction, acceptance and high usage of internet dependent gadgets.
Even though the internet may be easily accessible in today’s time through laptops, notebooks, iPads and even the simplest mobile phones in turn bringing the email at almost everyone’s disposal, not every individual in every country may have access to this service due to the cost factor. Many people have therefore chosen slightly more conventional methods of communication like the fax.
The Fax…
Fax is short for Facsimile which is the conveying of messages from one point to another via a telephone line with a printer attached. Messages from one end are sent to a phone number allocated to a fax machine, where the message comes out on printed paper.
One may ask however, with the widespread acceptance of the internet across the larger parts of the world, does the continued usage of the traditional fax keep one a step behind the rest?
Well not anymore! You can have the freedom of both the traditional facsimile with the internet and send messages across the globe, and everybody can keep in touch regardless of access to the internet. This means that with the inclusion of certain downloadable software, persons dependent upon internet based fax machines can send information to regular fax machines and vice versa.
How to do this?
1. You will need to register with an online fax service
2. A phone number will be given to you
3. A website or other medium of communication will be allocated to you through which messages will be conveyed
4. Documents received can be converted into formats such as PDF, word, etc
5. Messages received do not need to be printed and can be saved or forwarded.
